The world of high-end sports cars has long been seen as the pinnacle of the luxurious lifestyle. When one talks about Lamborghini or Ferrari, they cannot help but picture class, power, and above all sheer beauty. The construction of these vehicles is done mostly by hand, and you can see the intricacies and the skill needed to craft such remarkable machines. So we began to wonder, what other luxuries share these characteristics? What else do master craftsmen create by hand? What else represents the glamorous lifestyle? Well considering where I work, I feel you have already guessed.
The world of cigars captures that same segment of your imagination. It is an industry led by skill, rarity, and craftsmanship. Like these fine automobiles, cigars are viewed as an escape, a way to relax and forget your troubles. How much stress would you have sitting in a Ferrari 430, shooting down the highway with 500 horsepower at your disposal? What would worry you as your traveled the countryside in a Bentley Continental? I would assume you would find your self pretty relaxed, the same way you would feel puffing on a delicious Ashton or a luxurious Davidoff.
There is a definitive correlation between the cigar world and the industry of high performance automobiles, and we found it. So, we decided to have a little fun and do a head to head comparison of some of the world’s best cigars and the fastest supercars we could find. With Anthony as our resident car expert we set off in search of a way to test-drive some of these fantastic machines. We found exactly what we were looking for in the town of Clifton, New Jersey. Our dear friend John Nouri of Broadway Supercars happens to not only be a cigar smoker, but a JR customer as well. Bingo, we got it. So every once in a while we get the opportunity to take these vehicles out for a little test drive.
With Anthony behind the wheel, I was put to the rigorous task of finding cigars that pair well with each car we drove. Trust me, it was not as easy as it sounds. With so many options and characteristics to consider, I really had to find a cigar that matches up with the cars strength, look, feel, and overall theme. I think I pulled this one off.
