New Cigars from Montecristo

June 30, 2019

This was a big year for AUSA with two new cigars from Montecristo being unveiled at the IPCPR tradeshow.  Montecristo cigars are among the most beloved and popular in the world, so when there are new cigars announced, people start going crazy and rightfully so.

The first new cigar from Montecristo was actually shipped not to long ago.  It is a darker version of the Montecristo Espada known as the Montecristo Espada Oscuro.  It is hand crafted in Nicaragua by the Plasencia family and is cloaked in a dark and oily Oscuro wrapper, giving it rich and heavy notes of coffee, dark chocolate and a little spice.

The second new cigar from Montecristo may be one of the best they have ever done.  It is known as the Montecristo Cincuenta, and it was made to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the legendary factory, Tabacalera de Garcia.  The Montecristo Cincuenta is hand crafted by the Grupo de Maestro and uses aged Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos followed by a smooth Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.  While they will have generic boxes available for sale to the public, there are also 75 special edition Humidors made for them by Elie Bleu that will retail for around $10,000.

These cigars will all be available later this summer right here at JR Cigars.
