Dating from the 1840’s and originally manufactured in Cuba, Punch cigars are now also made at the Honduras American Tabaco S. A. (HATSA) factory, in Cofradia, Honduras. The Honduran version of Punch were created by the late cigar legend Frank Llaneza and first introduced to the US market in 1969 by Villazon (now part of General Cigar).
Punch is the benchmark against which all other Honduran cigars are judged. Handcrafted using Cuban-seed tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. This original blend leans more toward the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum. With an excellent range of flavor but not overpowering, Punch cigars are superbly constructed and consistently delicious, making them an everyday favorite for many aficionados. Over the years Punch cigars have been given high ratings by many cigar publications. A definite testament to quality.
PUNCH ROTHSCHILD DOUBLE MADURO
This is one of my favorite quick smokes. I love the oily oscuro wrapper, which adds a little kick. With its earthy Cuban-style flavor and just a subtle touch of chocolate and spice, I can always count on a very flavorful and consistent smoke. Through the years, I've smoked about a shedload of these little guys and always experience lots of thick smoke with a perfect draw. Upon hitting the midway mark, that yummy signature Punch tobacco flavor kicks in. This is a classic Honduran blend, with a delightful aftertaste and nice long, consistent finish! This cigar is proof that you can never go wrong with a tried-and-true classic brand.
