For many years, Macanudo cigars were made with only mild Connecticut wrappers, but General Cigar has since expanded to better meet the needs of today’s diverse smoker, by creating yet another amazing blend!
Macanudo Cru Royale cigars are a medium-bodied, full-flavored selection from one of the cigar world's most highly-acclaimed brands. These cigars were developed for the discerning smoker who demands a uniquely satisfying medium-bodied smoking experience.
Crafted under the direction of the legendary Benji Menendez, each cigar has a core of Nicaraguan & Dominican Viso long filler with Brazilian Mata Fina tobacco, plus a proprietary Dominican La Vega Especiale binder, all draped in a beautiful dark, oily Ecuadorian Habano leaf wrapper. The combination creates ample flavors from earth to pepper while still keeping that smooth flavor profile Macanudo is known for. A definite masterpiece that's sure to please.
MACANUDO CRU ROYALE ROBUSTO
At first glance, this un-Macanudo like blue-and-silver band, as well the slightly rustic, deep reddish-brown wrapper might have you thinking you're smoking a different brand. Having smoked about a million classic Macanudo cigars in my lifetime, I wanted to taste the fairly new Cru Royale line, as I fancy a fuller-bodied smoke most of the time.
One thing that really stood out during my prelight inspection was the sweet cedar scent of the wrapper.
After lighting, I noticed that he Cru Royale smokes like a champ with a solid white ash, perfect draw and nice even burn.
This cigar is endowed with complex flavors of butterscotch, cedar, chocolate and a pleasant nutty undertone. All in all, a very nice medium-bodied smoke and a wonderful edition to the ever-growing selection of Macanudo cigars.
