Created from a 1999 cache of aged tobaccos sufficient to make just 40,000 cigars in total, this blend can never be repeated; once these cigars are gone... they’re gone. Made with a 1BW Connecticut wrapper (that’s the best grade, and the best nutty-brown color), these cigars are almost identical to the H. Upmanns of the 1970s, with the exception of the wrapper (in the ’70s, the H. Upmann had an African Cameroon wrapper). In order to do justice to this original recipe, the factory has produced these Upmanns in the two most popular shapes of that era: the Corona and the Lonsdale (they are also available in Cabinet de Cincuenta and Cask Aged sizes and packaging).
