WRAPPER: Ecuador Sumatra BINDER: Nicaragua FILLER: Nicaragua
Punch is one of the most famous brand names in the world, originating in 19th century Cuba. The Honduran version of Punch debuted in 1969 and is still being made today. As popular as ever, Punch cigars have a unique medium to full body that stems from a diverse blend of Tobaccos.
This knockout combination of great flavor was released in October of 2009, and has earned quite a following.
The Uppercut is handmade in Honduras with an earthy, bold blend of long-filler tobaccos and a spicy binder, both grown in Ometepe, Nicaragua, and then perfectly finished with an attractive, dark, and oily Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. This isn't your run of the mill tobacco. A large portion of the blend is a tobacco variety grown on Lake Nicaragua's volcanic island, named Ometepe. A combination of nutrient-rich volcanic soil, perpetual cloud cover and unique climate, are said to result in a unique flavor your palate is sure to be delighted with this well-balanced cigar’s rich, deep tobacco flavor accompanied by undertones of black cherry, coffee, leather, and spice. This one’s definitely a heavyweight contender.
