EXCALIBUR 1066 CERTIFIED VINTAGE
WRAPPER: Cameroon BINDER: Connecticut Broadleaf FILLER: Dominican Republic/Honduras/Nicaragua
In 2001, General Cigar ran a trial promotion during which the company sent consumers two cigars simply labeled “Selection No. 1” and “Selection No. 2.” Then, in focus groups and by letter and e-mail, those consumers voiced their preferences, and the more favorably received cigar went into production to become the Excalibur 1066. Anyway, while this is possibly not the greatest sales pitch in the world, these Excalibur 1066 Certified Vintage smokes are the Selection No. 1 cigars that were not picked by the focus groups. Cameroon-wrapped vintage smokes have had lots of time to age and feature a medium-bodied multination blend of fine tobaccos. They’re a hell of a smoke . . . especially at these prices.
