WRAPPER: Connecticut Shade BINDER: Dominican Republic FILLER: Brazil/Dominican Republic
For fans of Dominican cigars, the Dunhill Aged variety will be a treat to light up. These finely constructed, handmade cigars have been filled with an impeccably complex combination of tobaccos from Brazil and the Dominican Republic’s Cibao Valley region. The aged Piloto Cubano and Olor tobaccos combine with a golden claro shade wrapper from Windsor Valley, Connecticut for a mild-medium body finish that you won’t want to end.
Once produced in Cuba, Dunhill Cigars have since re-located to the Dominican Republic, but have stayed dedicated to their core values of premium craftsmanship, unparalleled quality assurance and unforgettable taste, as is delivered in their pipe tobaccos as well. A Flawless Gem
I think all smokers have certain niches they consider essential. I strive never to run out of full-bodied Robustos or Rothschilds, or mild-to-medium Churchills, or Toros and Coronas of every strength & body, and most importantly mild, creamy Petite Coronas to go with coffee in the morning. In that last category, the 4x42 Dunhill Caleta has ruined me for any other cigar! I have even given up my beloved Fonseca 2-2 Claros for these, and I did not think ANYTHING could make me do THAT. Yes, the Caleta is only four inches long and yes, it IS nearly three bucks per tiny little stick even if you buy them online in quantity. But what that third dollar buys for you is peace of mind: you are simply never going to run into a subpar Dunhill. Each one is flawlessly bunched and sheathed in a gorgeous flannel-soft Connecticut Shade wrapper, and they are ready to smoke right out of the tin. The work of resting these cigars has already been done for you in the factory aging rooms. I would describe the overall smoking experience as a super-premium version of a Santa Damiana. Anyone who remembers those will remember that even as buttery-smooth as they were, you still had to give them a week or two of humidor time before you could burn them to optimum effect. This is not the case with Dunhills. These are plug-and-play, no-assembly-required. So consider all this before you balk at the price tag. This is not just another mild Dominican cigar. This is the top of the heap right here.
