KENTUCKY FIRE CURED
WRAPPER: San Andrés BINDER: Nicaragua FILLER: Manufacturer’s Secret!
The crew at Drew Estate Cigars is always looking for new and unusual blends to astonish the daring smoker. The Kentucky Fire Cured brand comes from the mind of famed cigar pioneer Jonathan Drew, who worked to perfect it for and has been for more than two years.
The leaves in this premium blend, as its name states, are fire-cured (rather than air-cured), which imparts a unique smoky taste that’s unlike anything else on the market. This quality blend is loaded with notes of roasted hickory, oak, and sweet Kentucky burley tobacco. By creating a recipe that offers the best features of a classic American pipe tobacco and a premium handmade cigar, Drew Estate has guaranteed that the smoker is rewarded with luxurious flavor that is unlike any other cigar.
Featured Customer Reviews for KENTUCKY FIRE CURED
I live in Southern California. There have been two occasions in the past 10 years or so where we have had wild fires in the hills around our neighborhood. One of the most memorable things from that experience was the rancid smell of ash whenever it rained for months afterward. My first smell of a KFC bought back those memories. While the physical build of the cigar is top notch, I have no idea as to what they were thinking when they smoke-cured the tobacco. From the first draw you feel as if you have bitten into a big piece of charcoal. And it goes downhill from there. This is not for me. It is not a pleasant experience.
I bought a bundle of these cigars simply because I was intrigued by the Fire Cured name. Ever since I smoked my first one there is always at least a couple in my humidor. Ive smoked quite a few of these and have only had trouble with one as far as construction goes, the wrapper split. I was once a regular pipe smoker and my favorite tobacco was Germains Special Latakia fire cured and these cigars are identical in taste. It was like welcoming home an old friend. Time in the humidor is a real plus for these cigars, give them a 30 day rest and you will be pleased with the result. Thanks Drew Estates for bringing this cigar to the market.
Drew Estates got a winner!
the guys at Drew Estate, did it again by creating these unique smokes with fire cured tobacco and a nice Scotch flavor. This puppy is like an amazing Irish pipe tobacco and cigar rolled into one. Ive been smoking cigars and pipes for many years and this cigar is so unique tasting that I smoked two in a row! Smoke this blend with a nice Porterhouse steak and a glass of single Malt and you will be in Stogy heaven !!
Another great smoke from the mind of J. Drew
I wish I had tried these sooner. I am smoking one right out of the pack and it is outstanding. A little time in the humidor and Im sure it will be better. It is strong but very smooth, after a little rest I will write about it again.
I was really hoping for the best with this brand. Perhaps I expected too much with the peaty scotch flavor billing. I didnt notice that. The stick has a noticeable delineation between the wrapper along the body and the foot. It drew well, but the ash was soft and the aroma was medicinal smelling and had hints of pine tar. I should add that I did not purchase them from JR so the shops storing of them may have contributed to the less than optimal experience.
