LA AURORA BARREL AGED
WRAPPER: Dominican Republic BINDER: Dominican Republic FILLER: Dominican Republic
The La Aurora Barrel Aged series was created by placing premium-quality aged tobacco in old oak barrels that, at one time, held Dominican rum. Sounds good, right? Well, after spending four years aging in these special oak barrels, the tobaccos are expertly hand-rolled into some of the richest-tasting cigars you’ll ever smoke.
Immediately upon lighting, you’ll taste sweet spice and, upon exhale, subtle hints of that aged rum. Further along, the premium tobacco blend displays deep, earthy flavors of mocha accented with more sweet spice to saturate smokers’ palates all the way down to the very top of the band. It is a slow-burning cigar that is perfectly rolled, making the Barrel Aged line yet another stunning success from La Aurora, the Dominican Republic’s oldest cigar factory.

Very Tasty Cigar.
Aged tobacco in old oak barrels that, at one time, held Dominican rum! Well, the description had my mouth watering. And they tasted just as good as they sound. These cigars were so smooth and still had bold complex flavor. and the unique curing process added just some hints of rum on the exhale. Im enjoying the Heck out of these!
Potentially a decent smoke, but has burn issues
I have tried about 4 of these and have not been able to keep any of them lit beyond the first 1-2 inches. Regardless of how quickly or slowly I smoke them. Re-lighting these cigars 5-6 times per smoke really puts a damper on the enjoyment. The flavor is a bit like charcoal, no discernable sweet, spicey, or earthy taste at all. Just kind of bitter tasting. I will let the rest of the box age until next year in the humidor to see if that helps with the burn/draw issues. Until then I will enjoy my usual menu. My other brands taste and burn even better by comparison to these dogs.
