For over a century and a half, the rich and smooth H. Upmann has been a favorite of cigar connoisseurs. Today, this legend lives on and is expertly handcrafted in La Romana, Dominican Republic, with an aged blend of Piloto Cubano, Cuban-seed filler tobaccos, and beautiful Java wrappers. Flawless construction, consistency, and a nutty flavor have been the trademark of this cigar for many, many years.
One of the good old brands. I have always had a good smoke with this brand. Nice construction, ash holds well with no flaking or crumbling. Good strength that is not offputting to those who like lighter strength smokes, no harshness or bitterness in the flavor.
I used to smoke these occasionally years ago. Not bad. However Upmann has done this cigar a bad rap when compared to the recently developed H. Upmann Original. The original is the finer smoke. Good flavors etc. This cigar just seems bland to me and very un-interesting.
