Can
you change an order placed online? |
|
Once an online order has been submitted, it cannot be changed. However,
our Customer Service Department may be able to cancel the order and
allow you to resubmit it. Or they can place an order for you, making
the necessary changes.
The time between the submittal and the packing of the order is extremely
limited; be sure to contact Customer Service as soon as possible. We

How do I set up an online account? |
|
There are two ways to open a JRCigars.com account:
Simply place whatever you wish to buy within your shopping cart and
when you go to the check-out portion of the process, you will be prompted
to do so as an "Existing Customer" or as a "New Customer."

When you go to check-out,
you will be asked to "Sign In or Open an Account". If you have
not ordered online before, click on "Create Account." It will
take just a minute. In the future, you will save time as your
customer info will be saved in your own personal, password-protected
online account. It's that easy!!! |

What are your shipping charges? |
|
DELIVERY CHARGES PER ORDER:
$2.50 per item (including free goods)
Priority Mail - item charges - +$6.00
2nd Day - item charges - + $6.00
Next Day - item charges - +$16.00
Sat. Del.- item charges - +$25.00
Please note:
- A $1.00 UPS Ground Fuel Surcharge or
a $2.00 Air Fuel Surcharge will be incurred on all packages sent by
UPS.
- UPS 2nd Day Air (Blue Label) is delivered
on the second "Business Day" after the order ships. Saturday, Sunday
and shipper observed holidays are not "Business Days."
- UPS Next Day Air (Red Label) is delivered
on the next "Business Day" after the order ships.
- All orders must be placed before 2:00
p.m. EST to be shipped the same day Monday through Friday. All orders
placed after 2 p.m. on Fridays, on Saturdays and Sundays will be shipped
on the following Monday; if Monday is a holiday, the orders will ship
on the next business day.
- UPS Saturday Delivery is only available
from Thursday at 2:00 p.m. EST to Friday at 1:59:59 p.m. EST.
- After three unsuccessful delivery attempts,
UPS will return your package to JR Cigars.com. All return freight
charges will be passed on to the consumer.
- All shipments Freight on Board (FOB) Burlington, NC. Risk of loss is on the buyer during transport and shipment.

How do you handle state and federal tobacco excise taxes? Are
they built into the price of the cigars? |

We are only licensed to do business in North Carolina.
As our invoices state, customers are responsible for taxes due to their
states.

What are your shipping terms? |
|
All shipments Freight on Board (FOB) Burlington, NC. Risk of loss is on the Purchaser during transport and shipment. Title to, and ownership of all goods passes from Seller to the Purchaser in Burlington, North Carolina, and the Purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipment. By arranging for transportation of the goods, Seller is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of Purchaser. By utilizing this service from Seller, Purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of the goods. The Purchaser represents that he/she is of lawful age and has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of the goods and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered.

Do you ship outside of the USA? |
|
No... currently we only ship cigars to consumers within
the USA or those with APO/FPO USA military oversea addresses.
We have thoroughly researched the option of shipping
cigars to foreign cigar consumers. Sadly due to the variable costs involved
and more so, the myriad of different tobacco and tax laws worldwide
it really is not feasible for us to currently ship outside the US. When
we weigh the benefit versus the costs, shipping outside the USA simply
is not good for our business. For some business models it could be great;
for us, it simply is bad business.
Also, we do not send catalogs outside of the USA. In
some countries it would be regarded as an illegal solicitation since
we are not authorized to export cigars into that country.
Every year we reconsider our current policy, looking
at all our options. Hopefully one day, we will be able to provide every
cigar smoker on the planet with great cigars at a great price.

Do you sell cigarettes online? |
|
JRCigars.com does not sell any cigarettes or related
products online in compliance with the state and federal laws and our
desire to -not- be in the online cigarette business.
Yes, we know other sites do so. Obviously they have
a different interpetation of the various legislations and company philosophy.

Do you sell Cuban cigars? |
|
Nope, that would be illegal.
However, we sell a ton of cigars that are as good as
any Cuban cigar. And for much, much less... you gotta be nuts to be
spending $15 for any Cuban cigar!

Where are the 5-cigar packs? |
|
5-Packs are located on the left hand navigation menu of the website, under Luxury Cigars.

I signed up for your emails but I don't seem to be getting them. |

In order to make sure that you receive our emails, please make sure to add us to your white list. Below are some instructions for
common mail providers:
AOL
Make sure to add our "from address" to your AOL address book:
- Click the Mail menu and select Address Book.
- When the "Address Book" window pops up, click the Add button.
- When the "Address Card for New Contact" window loads, cut and paste the email address into the "Other E-Mail" field.
- Make our From address the "Primary E-Mail" address by checking the appropriate check box.
- Save
Yahoo!
A filter is needed to redirect our email into your inbox:
- Open your mailbox and click on Mail Options in the upper right corner.
- Select Filters (bottom left).
- Click the Add link on the Filters page.
- Update the "From header:" rule with the following: "contains" and the email address. This lets the mail server identify our email communication based on the email's "From" address.
- Click the Choose Folder pull down menu and select inbox.
- Select the Add Filter button.
Hotmail
Make sure to add our from addresses to your Hotmail Safe List:
- Open your mailbox and click "Options" in the upper right corner.
- Click the "Junk E-Mail Protection" link (top of page).
- Select the "Safe List" link (2nd from bottom).
- Copy and paste the full email address or domain name (@domain.com) into the box titled "Type an address or domain".
- Click the "Add" button next to the dialog box.
Gmail
Make sure to add our from address to your Gmail Contacts List:
- Click "Contacts" along the left side of any Gmail page.
- Click "Add Contact".
- Copy and paste the from address into the primary email address box.
- Click "Save".
- Click "Spam" along the left side of any Gmail page.
- Check the box next to our email address.
- Click the "NOT Spam" button on top.
Others
Check your program FAQs and Help documentation to add our address to the white list. Often just adding our from address to your contacts will
be sufficient, but if you find that you are not receiving our emails, check your bulk, spam, or junk folders to see if they are in there. If so,
there should be a button or link to specify that this is "not junk" or "not spam". Clicking this button should ensure that your email finds its
way into your inbox. You may have to periodically check your junk folders if you notice that you aren't receiving the emails.

Why can't I place an order using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8? |
|
We are researching the issue that is related to Windows 7 in combination with the Internet Explorer browser. Following these instructions to clear your internet files, cookies and history in Internet Explorer may solve the problem:
- From the Safety menu in the upper right, click Delete Browsing History
- Check Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History, and then click Delete.
You can also add https://www.jrcigars.com to your "Trusted Sites" by following these directions:
- Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites
- Click Sites and add https://www.jrcigars.com
- Close the browser, then re-open it and try again.
Another option would be to download the Firefox Web Browser.
